A Busy Witch indeed

A Wonderful Weekend at the Magical Women's Conference in Birmingham

This past weekend, I had the immense pleasure of attending the Magical Women's Conference in Birmingham, an event that truly lived up to its enchanting name. From the moment I stepped into the conference hall, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of camaraderie, learning, and, of course, magic.

The event brought together women from all walks of life, united by a shared passion for magical studies and practices. It was a weekend filled with workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities, all designed to deepen our understanding and appreciation of the magical arts. The energy was palpable, and every conversation buzzed with excitement and shared knowledge.

I want to say how proud I am of Erezbet Barthhold and Lucy Greenwood because I know how much work the conferences are to organise. Awesome Job Ladies.

My Talk on Ecology and Witchcraft

One of the highlights of the conference for me was the opportunity to give a talk on a topic close to my heart: Ecology and Witchcraft. I delved into the symbiotic relationship between our natural environment and magical practices, exploring how witchcraft can be both a spiritual and practical response to ecological concerns.

The reception was overwhelming. The audience was engaged and responsive, and it was truly heartening to see so many women interested in using their magical practices to foster a deeper connection with nature. The questions and discussions that followed were thought-provoking and insightful, further emphasising the collective desire to use our gifts for the betterment of the planet.

Launch of the Dark Half Journal

Another exciting moment was the launch of the Dark Half Journal. This new publication is dedicated to exploring the shadowy, introspective side of magic, offering a space for everyone to share their experiences, insights, and creative works.

As the journal's editor, I am eager to hear what you all think about it. Feedback is invaluable, and I encourage everyone to share their thoughts and suggestions. Moreover, the journal is open for submissions, and I would love to feature contributions from the talented people in our community. Whether you have a poem, an essay, or a piece of art, please consider submitting your work for inclusion in the next issue.

A Joyful, Tiring Weekend

After such a fulfilling and magical weekend, I find myself feeling both joyful and exhausted. The experience was invigorating, but it also took a lot of energy. So now, as I wind down from all the excitement, I plan to curl up with a good book and let my mind wander back over the wonderful memories we created together.

Thank you to everyone who made this weekend so special. Your passion, wisdom, and creativity are what make our magical community so extraordinary. I look forward to continuing these conversations and seeing you all at future events.

Light in the Green
